Voting push: "Do it for Avondale."

AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - A group of Avondale citizens is making a final push this week encouraging people to vote early.

The social media campaign "Do it for Avondale" kicks off  3 p.m. Wednesday on the corner of Reading Road and Forest Avenue near the Lincoln Statue.

The group says the only way people will get things to change in their community is to voice their opinion. To make sure residents can get to the polls, the organization is providing transportation to the Hamilton County Board of Elections Downtown.

Rides will be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday from the Lincoln statue.

When it comes to early voting, Ohio's elections chief says more than 477,000 absentee ballots already have been cast with almost 62,000 voting in person and another 416,000 by mail. More than 35,000 people have cast their ballots in Kentucky.

More than 7.7 million Ohioans were registered to vote as of Oct. 1.

In Ohio, you can vote absentee by mail or in person before Tuesday.
