Post offices see fewer letters to St. Nick as e-mail gains popularity
Not as many children are writing Santa Claus these days. Instead, they're likely using e-mail. Fargo, North Dakota, postmaster Greg Johnson says the number of letters to Santa is down nearly half in the past few years. He says Postal Service officials assume more kids are e-mailing Santa than writing him. There are a number of Web sites linked to the North Pole. They also may offer Christmas-themed games, music or art projects.
