A 22-year-old Middletown male is facing charges after police say he head-butted a 7-week-old baby.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office responded to Middletown Atrium Hospital around 1 p.m. Wednesday for a report of abuse to an infant.
Deputies say the baby suffered serious facial injuries, but the extent of those injuries are unknown at this time. The baby is in stable condition at Dayton Children's Hospital.
Deputies arrested the father, 22-year-old William Bently, and charged him with domestic violence and endangering children.
Authorities say Bently admitted to police that he head-butted the infant multiple times in the face because he (the infant) would not stop crying.
"I have advised investigators to charge this individual with the fullest extent of the law," said Sheriff Richard Jones.
The case is under investigation by the Butler County Detectives Division.
