Former UC basketball player arrested following theft, police chase

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -Former Kentucky Mr. Basketball Domonic Tilford was arrested after a brief police chase in Huntsville on Wednesday morning.

Tilford and three other suspects were charged with burglary and theft. Investigators say the men fled from officers after a burglary at a Verizon Wireless store.

The pursuit ended after the suspect vehicle went through Gate 10 on Patton Road at Redstone Arsenal around 6 a.m. The vehicle slammed into barricades at the gate.

Tilford and the three other suspects were taken into custody and booked into Metro Jail.

In 2005, Tilford was named Mr. Basketball in Kentucky after his senior year at Jeffersontown High School in Louisville.

Tilford played basketball at the University of Cincinnati in the 2005-2006 season before transferring to the University of South Alabama.

According to reports, Tilford has faced criminal charges in the past, including drug possession charges.
