Holiday Storm 2004

Storm leaves thousands without Power

Homes in Harrison, Pendlton and Bracken Counties are without power because heavy snow and ice brought down powerlines.  The weight of the ice took down more than 15 poles and numerous lines across the system.  Because of the extent of the damage, Blue Grass Energy brought in more than 70 contract lineworkers to assist in repairs. About 15,500 people are also in the dark in Clermont and Brown Counties. Cinergy says while they continue to restore power, call them only if you have a live wire.  About 70% of Highland County is also without power.
