AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) -

The suspect or suspects are still on the loose after a double shooting in Avondale on Wednesday night.

It happened just after 5 p.m. when police responded to the 800 block of Cleveland Avenue, right across the street from the Avon Park tennis courts.

Two people were rushed to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, but police say their injuries are not life threatening. Authorities say one victim has a gunshot wound on his backside, while the other was shot in the leg.

One local pastor is very active in trying to curb this type of violence. He himself was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time of a shooting
that happened on Monday afternoon. A bullet even hit the pastor's car while his wife and kids were inside. And he says the violence in this neighborhood is not acceptable.

"Sometimes we get so used to it we get immune to it but I don't want anyone to get used to it," said Ennis Tate. "I want every time there is a shooting, every time there is something rising up in our neighborhood for people in our neighborhood to be out and about really trying to find information about how we can stop the violence. Bullets don't have names and even good people can be in the wrong place at
the wrong time."

Police haven't released the names of the victims and there's no sketch or description of the suspects. If you know anything call Crimestoppers 352-3040.
