BOONE CO., KY (FOX19) - The Boone County Deputy who shot and killed a woman while on duty will not face charges.
A grand jury declined to indict after Special Prosecutor James Crawford presented evidence in the April 26 incident.
Boone County Deputy Tyler Brockman shot Samantha Ramsey, 19, after he stopped to investigate a field party in the 6000 block of River Road.
Tyler reportedly got out of his cruiser to stop Ramsey, who was driving a car and attempting to flee the scene. Ramsey refused to stop and hit Brockman, causing him to land on the hood of the car. One witness inside
Brockman then fired four rounds through the windshield. Ramsey stopped and backed up a short distance before coming to a rest in a ditch on the side of the road.
Ramsey was pronounced dead at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.
A special prosecutor was appointed to investigate.
According to Tom Scheben, Brockman is back at work, and will be back on the streets soon.
