MADISON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

The ATV driver who was killed in an accident Sunday evening has been identified by officials as 40-year-old Kenneth R. Gibbs.

Gibbs was riding his four-wheeler around 5 p.m. just south of the 4500 block of Trenton-Franklin Road when he lost control and the ATV rolled over him, according to a release from the Butler County Sheriff's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's deputies on scene said the wooded area where the accident happened, known as the Trenton Trestle, is a popular place for ATV riders. They said it's also a place known to have ATV accidents.

Madison Township emergency crews along with Butler County investigators and traffic units responded to the accident.

Officials said the exact cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
