KENWOOD, OH (FOX19) - A man is in custody after police say he showed up to Kenwood mall and tried to abduct his ex-girlfriend as she was leaving work.
According to court records, Marcus Mitchell, 24, showed up at the mall on Nov. 8 and grabbed his ex-girlfriend Lauren Coz, shoving her into his SUV while threatening to kill her.
Police records state that Coz tried to get out of the car but Mitchell hit her and then closed the door. He then started to drive away.
After going about 50 feet, Coz opened the door of the moving vehicle and jumped out. She sustained minor injuries.
According to police records, Mitchell later admitted that he forced her into his vehicle against her will. He also allegedly told police that he knew there were no cameras in the area so they would not be able to see the attempted abduction.
Mitchell has been charged with kidnapping and is being held on $80,000 bond. He will go before the grand jury on Nov. 18.
