CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Allegiant Air is expanding at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport with the addition of non-stop flights to Jacksonville, Fla., the low-cost airline announced on Wednesday.

The company says they will fly twice-weekly between CVG and JAX beginning Feb. 12. With the expansion, Allegiant Air will have 20 weekly flights out of CVG to eight domestic airports, according to CVG Chief Executive Candace McGraw.

“As one of Allegiant's fastest growing markets in their 15 year history, we are thrilled Allegiant is continuing to expand at CVG,” said McGraw.

A round-trip Allegiant Air ticket costs $230 for a flight leaving Feb. 12 and returning one week later, according to prices quoted on the web site Wednesday morning. The airline charges additional fees for baggage and seat selection.

A round-trip Delta ticket with the same dates was quoted on Delta.com for $644.

CVG was recently named the most expensive airport in the country, with average fares costing $514.
