Reds all-star pitcher Johnny Cueto finished second in the National League Cy Young award voting on Wednesday, losing out by a unanimous vote to the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw. The Cardinals' Adam Wainwright took third place behind Cueto.

Cueto, who finished fourth in Cy Young voting in 2012, has accumulated 187 points in career Cy Young voting, the most ever by a Reds pitcher.

Cueto finished the season with a 2.25 ERA and a 20-9 record on the bump, both second in rank to Kershaw. Cueto struck out a career-high 242 batters, and his opponent batting average (.194) led the National League.
