AirCare responds to Clermont County crash

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Alcohol is a factor in a crash that AirCare responded to in Miami Township, Clermont County late Wednesday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A 2003 Hyundai Tiburon traveling west on Deblin Drive at Buckwheat Road when driver Nicholas S. Roberts, 22, lost control and ran off the road, striking a utility pole, according to the patrol's Batavia post.

The passenger, Marissa Shelton, 23, suffered life threatening injuries and had to be flown by AirCare to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She is listed in critical condition.

Roberts was taken to Clermont Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Neither wore seatbelts.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
