One dead in early morning Butler County crash

MONROE, OH (FOX19) -

One person is dead following an early morning single vehicle crash in Monroe Sunday. 

Crews responded to the fatal crash on State Route 63, just east of Heritage Green Drive around 6 a.m.

The victim was identified by troopers as, Tommy C. David, 44, of Middletown.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, David was traveling westbound on SR 63 when David's vehicle went off the right side of the road, down a hillside, struck a fence line and then a tree.

David was pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County Coroner Investigator.

Officials say that after a preliminary investigation, speed was a contributing factor in the crash. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio Sate Highway Patrol-Hamilton Post.
