LOCKLAND, OH (FOX19) - Two men are dead following a double shooting in Lockland, and police say the ones responsible are still on the loose.

The double shooting happened along Wyoming Avenue at 2:30 on Monday afternoon.

The mother of one of those men can't believe her first born is gone.

"I'm in shock, in disbelief. I can't believe someone would kill my son," said Jackie Conner.

Conner stood closely next to family and friends after learning her son Patrick was one of the victims in the double shooting.

"I'm going to miss him. I just got back in town last night from two funerals and I kicked it with him for a little while and the last thing he told
me was I love you," said Conner.

The Lockland police department hasn't officially released the identity of the two victims, but did indicate they're two black men in their 20's.

"We're not sure if the vehicles that we have descriptions of are vehicles that people jumped into after this occurred," said James Toles, Lockland
Police Chief.

Chief Toles says it looks like this wasn't a drive-by, but something that happened on the street.

"One individual was laying in the middle of the street which was deceased. Another victim was located across the street in the back alley way behind one of the parking buildings back there," said Toles.

Friends and family members say "Big Pat" will be missed, but this has to be a lesson to others that violence isn't the answer.

"This is nonsense. These kids ain't even making it to see 30, when is this going to end?" said Kadijah Uhuru, a close friend of one of the victims. "You need to put the guns down and everybody needs to come up with some way to fix this. It's not going to stop. Everybody needs to step up the community and play they part."

No arrests have been made yet, but police say they're interviewing witnesses. If you have any information that can help investigators, call the Lockland Police.
