FOX19 - Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co. publicly announced support for marriage equality Tuesday, according to Why Marriage Matters Ohio.
"We have always supported our employees and fostered a culture of inclusion and respect--this includes the right to marry whomever they choose and to have that union legally recognized," said P&G's chief legal officer Deborah Majoras.
According to Why Marriage Matters Ohio, the company received a 100 percent rating from the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index in 2013.
"We congratulate Procter & Gamble for supporting marriage equality," said Michael Premo, campaign manager for Why Marriage Matters Ohio. "P&G recognizes that extending the freedom to marry to all loving and committed couples is good for families, good for business and good for communities."
