AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - A new $2.4 million town home project is underway in Avondale and community leaders are calling it a "lightning bolt" for future development and home ownership in the Uptown neighborhood.
Each of the 8 units will be approximately 1,400 square feet and are expected to have a $175,000 price point. Construction is expected to be completed by Fall 2015.
Community leaders say the project is a sign of investment in Avondale, which has the lowest home ownership rate in the city at 33%. Cincinnati-wide it is 40.5%.
Funding for the project is coming from various community stakeholders including University of Cincinnati, U.C. Health, Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Cincinnati Children's Hospital and TriHealth.
