Update: Edgewood police locate missing woman

EDGEWOOD, Ky. (FOX19) - UPDATE: Nov. 22, 4:30 p.m.

Edgewood police report Ethel Shepherd was located.


Edgewood police are attempting to find a person who has been missing since Thursday.

Police say that Ethel Shepherd, 77, of Ellenboro, W. Va was last seen around 2 or 3 p.m. leaving Saint Elizabeth Edgewood Hospital where she was visiting a family member.

According to police, Ethel was expected to go to a family member's house in Independence, Ky.

According to Independence Police and neighbors she never arrived. Her family members in W. Va have not seen or heard from her since Thursday.

Shepherd is described as five feet three inches tall, weighing 162 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.  She was last seen wearing black clothing and shoes and carrying a small brown purse.

Shepherd was described by family members as taking maintenance medication for memory loss and confusion issues, according to police.

Police say Ethel was last seen driving a 2008 Burgundy Nissan Sentra 4d with a West Virginia license plate OWP95W.  The wheels on the car have peeling paint except for the passenger front wheel.
