AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) -

The sun shined through Tri-State trees Tuesday after strong winds hit Monday, destroying property and injuring at least two people.

High winds kicked up as part of a cold front pushing down from Canada, bringing much colder air Tuesday.

Winds topped 55 mph at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport by noon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Two tree trimmers suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries when they were hit by falling branches in the 800 block of Reading Road in Avondale just before 11 a.m.

Strong gusts also peeled back the roof of two residential garages: one in Anderson Township and a second in the northern Butler County community of Trenton.

No one was hurt.
