Toy gun prompts lockdown at state hospital

ROSELAWN (FOX19) - A 45-year-old man is under arrest after authorities say he prompted a lockdown at a state hospital with a toy gun.

Roy Wilmoth of Lancaster, Ohio, is held in lieu of  $6,000 bond at the Hamilton County jail. He is scheduled to face a judge at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on a misdemeanor charge of inducing panic

According to court records, Wilmoth is accused of making threats to commit an offense of violence and causing a public inconvenience by taking a toy firearm to Summit Behavioral Healthcare, a Roselawn psychiatric hospital.

The alleged offense occurred about 3 p.m. Monday. The facility had to go on complete lockdown during the incident.

Court records do not indicate why Wilmoth was there.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, who handle crimes at state facilities, are handling the case.
