COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Fire crews battled a large house in the 2800 block of Geraldine Drive Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called to the neighborhood just before 8:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a basement fire with residents possibly still inside, said Capt. Steve Conn, spokesman for the Colerain Township Fire Department.
Fire crews have made several previous runs to the home, which has elderly residents, for medical emergencies, Conn said.
When they arrived Tuesday, firefighters completed a search of the first floor but were unable to immediately go into the basement due to heavy fire, he said.
The bulk of the blaze was knocked down by 8:45 a.m.
Fire crews finished a search of the entire residence and determined no residents were inside.
The cause remains under investigation.
