Trying this sweet side dish on Thanksgiving Day will make you think you're in Miami!
Buy green plantains:
Peel and cut into one inch slices
Pour oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat
Brown all sides of cut up plantain
Take out and let rest on a paper towel for a couple of minutes
Smash them flat (Jessica uses folded up foil and an oven mitt to smash them with her hands)
Peel off foil and fry in pan both sides
Take out and set on paper towel to rest.
Add a sprinkle of salt as soon as they come out of the pan so it sticks.
