MOUNT HEALTHY, OH (FOX19) -

A special needs puppy stolen from a pet store earlier this week has been returned to is owner and is safe, the store announced.

On Tuesday, a surveillance video caught two girls stealing a Morkie at Animal House, 7869 Hamilton Ave.

The store's owner, Michael Raleigh, said he was concerned the puppy would die without proper care.

"He was on some serious medication and we're really concerned about his life," he said.

The surveillance footage showed two girls walking into the store and eventually heading over to the dogs. One girl went back out to the car, and got a jacket.

Later it appeared she has something in her coat. A few minutes later, the two were seen walking outside and leaving in a hatchback.

This is the latest theft at Animal House. Two puppies were stolen this summer.

"When something like this happens, it just hits us right in the heart because we have a connection with each and every puppy that comes
into our store we treat them as if they're our own," said Raleigh.

The animals were later returned, thanks to similar surveillance video.
