Italian seasoned dressing
This Italian-spin on traditional dressing is courtesy FOX19 NOW's Miranda Del Pozo and sure to delight taste buds at your Thanksgiving Day table!
6 tablespoons chopped onion, celery and green pepper
¼ cup butter
8 cups dry bread cubes (about 15-20 slices cut up and dried overnight on the counter)
½ teaspoon salt,
½ teaspoon pepper
1½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons parsley
1 to 2 cups chicken or turkey broth (better to use broth from the turkey you are cooking)
1 beaten egg added last
Cook onion, celery and pepper in butter in large skillet. Add seasonings.
Mix into bread cubes in a large mixing bowl.
Toss with enough broth to moisten well. Add beaten egg.
Pour into large, greased casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
