BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Boone County Sheriff's investigators charged a homeless man with robbing two gas stations within the last week on Wednesday.

Erlanger Police Detective Aaron Millson worked with the Newport Police Department and charged Rodney Cooper, 43, most recently of Edgewood, Ky with one count first degree robbery and one count second degree robbery.

Police say Cooper robbed a Speedway gas station located in the 5900 block of Merchants Street on Nov. 21 where he implied he had a weapon.

Officials say Cooper then robbed a Sunoco gas station located in the 300 block of Mount Zion Road on Nov. 22 near Florence.

According to Tom Scheben of the Boone County Sheriff's office, Millson had been working with Newport detectives on identifying Cooper as both agencies were working similar robberies with a like described offender involved.

Officials say Cooper confessed to the crimes.
