Benefit to be held for 18-year-old Cheviot shooting victim

CHEVIOT, OH (FOX 19) - A benefit is to be held for the 18-year-old man who was shot early Tuesday in Cheviot.

Chandler Baker died at UC Medical Center have police found him in the back of an apartment complex in the 3800 block of Dina Terrace.  He has relatives who live in the complex.

A police officer on routine patrol heard gunshots in the area of Albert Street and Applegate Avenue just after 3:30 a.m.

Police think he was shot at the intersection of Albert Street and Applegate Avenue before jumping a fence and collapsing. Several shell casings were found about a block away on Albert Avenue.

The benefit will be held on Dec 13 a 2:30 p.m. at Another Bar at 250 S Miami Ave in Cleves.

According to a release, the benefit will be $5 per person and $8 a couple.  

There will be raffles, split the pot, food, music, a silent auction, and fun for family and friends.

According to a release, the benefit is to raise money to help Chandler to rest.
