SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
Black Friday madness hit a little early this year as shoppers staked out places in line outside Toys R Us five days ahead of Thanksgiving.
Some retailers like the toy store behemoth are expected to open at 4 p.m. Thursday to get a jump on the biggest shopping day of the year.
People began lining up in sub-zero temperatures shortly after daybreak Saturday. Some dragged out folding chairs, blankets and coolers. Others clutched steaming cups of coffee and gabbed on cell phones.
"I'm in it for the long haul," said John Doe, pulling his ski hat down over his ears. "I have six children, so for Santa to bring them everything on their lists, I have to get to all the best sales first."
