EAST PRICE HILL (FOX19) -

A motorist is under arrest after Cincinnati police say he was twice the legal limit when he crashed his vehicle into a garage and then tried to run from officers.

Derek Render, 25, is held on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to control his vehicle, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

He blew .179 on a sobriety test, which is more than twice Ohio's legal limit to drive of .08.

Render lost control of his sport utility vehicle just before 2 a.m. Tuesday at West 8th Street and Elberon Avenue. The SUV slammed into a residential garage.

No one was hurt.

Render bailed from his vehicle and tried to run off.

Officers apprehended him without further incident.
