A Westwood woman will serve eight years in prison for an accident that killed her 4-year-old grandson.

Geanna Mitchell, 43, was sentenced Tuesday under charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Mitchell's 9-year-old daughter and 4-year-old grandson were in the SUV on May 31 when it crashed and flipped on the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge. Officials said Mitchell was driving under the influence with a suspended license.

4-year-old Logan Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene. The 9-year-old passenger was not injured.

A judge suspended Mitchell's driver's license for life in addition to the 8-year sentence.
