CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - James Precht, husband of the so-called ‘Pearl lady', was ruled competent to stand trial on Tuesday. He is charged with falsification and obstructing official business.

He is accused of lying to police in the death case of his wife, Barbara, who was recently identified as the woman pulled from the Ohio River in 2006. Police tried to identify her based on the pearl necklace she wore.

She was positively identified on Nov. 5 of this year after her fingerprints were run through a FBI database.

The cause of Barbara Precht's death is not being released due to the ongoing investigation.

On Wednesday, a pre-trial hearing will be held at 9 a.m. Precht's lawyers want the interrogation tapes, but the prosecutors say that the tapes have nothing to do with the falsification charge.

The non-jury trial will be held Dec. 4.
