CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
The Cincinnati Reds have traded outfielder Chris to the Los Angeles Dodgers for pitcher Matt Magill, the Reds have announced.
Heisey, 29, will be entering into his sixth season as a major leaguer. Drafted in the 17th round of the amateur player draft, he has spent his entire professional career in the Reds organization. Heisey's MLB batting average is .247 and has 50 total home runs.
Magill was drafted in the 31st round of the 2008 amateur draft. The 25-year-old right hander made his MLB debut in 2013. That year he posted 6.51 ERA in 27.2 innings pitched.
"We are excited to be adding a player with a power arm who has a chance to help our club next season," General Manager Walt Jocketty said of the acquisition.
