CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
University of Cincinnati Bearcats bounced back from their first loss of the season to beat the Stony Brook Seawolves 78-52.
Junior Shaquille Thomas paced the Bearcats with 14 points. Freshman Gary Clark filled up the stat sheet with 13 points and eight rebounds.
UC was playing short-handed again Tuesday. Senior guard Ge' Lawn Guyn was once again not dressed due to an injured finger and Freshman Jamaree Strickland is suspended indefinitely. The Bearcat bench became even more depleted when Octavius Ellis was ejected with a flagrant foul. Mick Cronin said after the game that Ellis went and apologized to the Stony Brook players after the game.
The Bearcats (6-1) did not miss a beat though. UC opened the second half on a 12-2 run to stretch the lead to 50-27.
The ‘Cats now wait 11 days until their next contest Dec. 13 at Nebraska.
