CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

About 200 protesters from various student organizations staged a rally outside the Cintas Center at Xavier University Saturday night.

Organizers say it was a stand against injustice.

The protesters say they are troubled by recent deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and Eric Garner in New York, both at the hands of police officers.

Protesters say the shooting deaths of unarmed black males by white police officers is a nationwide epidemic.

"How I carry myself in public and makes me really think about how I carry myself and how I'm seen by law enforcement and it makes me kind of scared in a sense, but at the same time I want to make sure that I am three steps ahead of whatever a cop is going to say to me or any types of stereotypes that are going on my P's and Q's at all times," Randall Mitchell, Vice President of the Black Student Association said.

There was representation from a variety of ethnic groups at the rally.
