CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
72-year-old Ronald Bingle is from Cincinnati, but he is a Pittsburgh Steeler fan despite the fact his last name sounds just like his home town team.
Bingle's love affair with the black and gold goes back to the early 1970s.
His Price Hill apartment is full of Steeler memorabilia, and he has some favorites.
“These plaques on my wall with all the players,” said Bingle of his favorite momentos.
Bingle has witnessed and accomplished many things in his 72 years, but there is one even he hasn't witnessed.
"Well this is the first time I've been to a Pittsburgh Steeler game,” said Bingle.
Beth Merritt, who works with Care-Givers Health Network, wanted to make this happen for Mr. Bingle even though he's rooting for the other team.
"Mr. Bingle is so important to us, that it's o.k. for this time he can be a Steelers fan and as a Bengals fan we will help him get his dream,” said Merritt.
While Mr. Bingle is thankful for this early Christmas gift, he really wants to see one thing other than a Steeler's victory.
“I would love to meet the ball players, the Steelers and get my football autographed by them if I could,” Bingle added.
