LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Butler County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that it has now charged a 14-year-old in the Liberty Township arson case.

On Nov. 30, a 14-year-old boy was set on fire while visiting Countryside Trailer Park.

Initially detectives received information from witnesses that a 17-year-old was the one that set the boy on fire.

"We put a lot of pressure on a lot of people in the trailer park because of inconsistencies after the fact,” Sgt. Rob Whitlock said. “We have a child with severe injuries and all fingers pointed in one direction, until now.”

The 14-year-old now charged in the case is now in the Juvenile Detention Center.

As for the 17-year-old initially charged in the case, he has been released from the Juvenile Detention Center and is currently under house arrest for a probation violation that is not related to the investigation.

Police say they will continue the investigation and there could be more charges coming.
