CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Tracie Hunter's request to suspend her sentence pending appeal has been denied by Judge Norbert Nadel.

Nadel issued the order Tuesday morning, saying that Hunter must report to the Hamilton County courthouse by Dec. 29 at 8:30 a.m., as previously stated at her sentencing last week.

Hunter's attorney, Clyde Bennett, asked that the judge stay her sentencing while her case goes through the appeal process.

Bennett filed an appeal for the six month sentence Nadel handed Hunter for having an unlawful interest in a public contract. She faced up to 18 months behind bars.

According to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office officials, for her safety, Hunter will be isolated in the jail rather than placed with the general population.

Hunter is also in trouble with the Ohio Supreme Court for failing to stop practicing law, as she was ordered to do in October.
