UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) -
Students at University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine are participating in a national White Coat Die-In Wednesday.
The noon event will take place in the atrium of the Medical Sciences Building, 231 Albert Sabin Way.
Medical students said they feel they have a great responsibility to the community, and want to demonstrate it through a peaceful protest.
They said they want to show solidarity with victims and families of recent tragedies. They also want to acknowledge the relation of violence and racism to healthcare, educate fellow students about racial injustices and encourage future health care professionals to bring change and equality to the community.
"We understand that the daily instability, oppression, and injustices our patients encounter increase stress and worsen illness," they said.
