SHARONVILLE, OH (FOX19) -
A Princeton High School student was arrested and turned over to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center after bringing a gun in to school Wednesday.
Officials say that Princeton High School administrators were notified that a student was showing off a firearm that he was carrying in the building.
According to a release, the principal and school resource officer located the student immediately and recovered the firearm that was being carried concealed by the juvenile student.
Sharonville Police say that the firearm was never brandished in a threatening manner and no one was injured.
The juvenile was arrested and turned over to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center without incident, officials reported.
Princeton High School released a statement on their website saying:
It was reported to a staff member that a student possessed a weapon at the Princeton High School today. The staff and School Resource Officer immediately took action. Following district protocol, the weapon was confiscated; the student was arrested and removed from the building. We are proud of our staff and students for following our safety procedures. We encourage our students and staff to report any type of situation that may cause harm. We want our parents to know that everyone remained safe and all protocols were in place. The matter is now under police and school jurisdiction. Consequences will be assigned accordingly pending the full investigation.

The juvenile is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, illegal conveyance/possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone and having weapons under disability.
