RECIPE: The Spicy Olive's Maple Glazed Nut Mix

For the holiday season, Melanie Cedargren is sharing her flavorful recipes featuring popular products from The Spicy Olive. Consider preparing the nut mix for a hostess gift, or start your holiday feast with the field green salad.

Sweet and Spicy Maple Glazed Nut Mix

1 cup pecans 1 Tbsp The Spicy Olive's Chipotle olive oil

1 cup almonds 1 tsp The Spicy Olive's Vermont Maple balsamic

1 cup walnuts 2 Tbsp. fresh rosemary, chopped

2 Tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. dried thyme, chopped

2 Tbsp. maple syrup 1/8 tsp sea salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 350°F. in a bowl, toss all 3 nuts with brown sugar and maple balsamic/syrup, chipotle oil, rosemary and thyme. Spread nuts on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring occaisionally until browned. Season the nuts with salt and pepper and toss frequently until cooled. The nuts can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 weeks.

The Spicy Olive's Holiday Salad

1 package mixed field greens

5 oz. crumbled feta cheese

1/4 cup toasted pine nuts

seeds (kernels) from 1 pomegranate


1/4 cup The Spicy Olive's Pomegranate Quince white blasamic vinegar

1/4 cup The Spicy Olive's Persian Lime olive oil

Place mixed greens in a salad bowl. Top with pine nuts,feta cheese and pomegranate kernels. Whisk together the Pomegranate Quince balsamic and the Persian Lime olive oil and pour over salad. Toss to coat evely and serve. The colors are so pretty together, like Chritmas in a bowl and so delicious! Enjoy!
