Lauren Hill scores at home game

FOX19 -

Lauren Hill added two more points to her stat sheet on Saturday at the College of Mount St. Joseph's home game against Franklin College.

The freshman, who has terminal brain cancer, received a standing ovation after scoring the first bucket at the Harrington Center gymnasium.

The Mount fell to Franklin 66-56, but for many, Hill's career isn't measured in wins and losses.

Hill has become a celebrity athlete and champion for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare form of brain cancer, since her inspirational story captured the sports world earlier this year.

Shortly after signing with MSJ, Hill was diagnosed and told she had two years to live. Not one to give up on her dream of playing college basketball, Hill played her first collegiate game on Nov. 2 against Hiram College at the Cintas Center at Xavier University.

That sold out game was expected to be the only appearance Hill would make in her college career, but she has since played two more games.
