Cincinnati's Holiday for Fines program runs this week. Pay off a $45 expired meter violation by donating 10 canned goods. (Provided by Cincinnati)
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Have an overdue parking ticket in the city of Cincinnati?
Pay off the $45 late fee on a $45 ticket by donating 10 canned good items this week through the Holiday Food for Fines program.
You still have to pay the $45 ticket cost, but anyone with two or fewer expired meter violations between Jan. 1 and Dec. 1 of this year is eligible.
Cans cannot be expired and must be a minimum of 12 ounces.
If possible, bring your past due ticket or any item with the citation number to the cashier windows on the second floor City Hall at 801 Plum St. Downtown from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. If you don't have your ticket, city employees can look it up for you.
All of the canned good donations will go to the Freestore Foodbank.
Cincinnati City Council is offering the program to help those struggling this holiday season. They also want to help provide healthy food options for residents.
