Hunter asks Court of Appeals to postpone jail sentence

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Former Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Tracie Hunter has requested to have her six-month jail sentence be postponed pending the result of her appeal of the conviction of unlawful interest in a public contract.

Hunter's attorney for the appeal, David Singleton, lists five reasons why Hunter's jail sentence should be put on hold. The motion argues the strong likelihood of success that Hunter will win her appeal of her conviction. Singleton also explains that Hunter has medical issues that will be difficult to manage in the Hamilton County Justice Center. He also states that Hunter is not a flight risk or a danger to the community.

Hunter was convicted of using her influence to share confidential court documents with her brother. She is scheduled to start serving her sentence Dec. 29 and 8:30 a.m.
