Teens found shot near beating victim in North Fairmount

NORTH FAIRMOUNT, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati police investigated overnight after two teenage boys were found shot several times near a beating victim.

The teens, 17 and 18, were shot several times in the chest and stomach about 9:45 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of Brinkmeier Avenue, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

They were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center and underwent immediate surgery. Both were listed in critical but stable condition. They are expected to recover Brown said.

It is not clear yet what led up to the shootings. Police found a pistol nearby.

While officers responded to that emergency, a 24-year-old man turned up seriously beaten nearby, Brown said.

It's not clear yet if he is connected to the shootings.

Initially, investigators thought the 24-year-old also had been shot but that was ruled out once he arrived at the hospital.

"He took a severe beating from somebody," Brown said.

The man is expected to recover.
