MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

A semi truck hauling beer overturned on northbound Interstate 75 near Middletown Wednesday night, shutting down one direction of the highway.

The truck overturned just after 6 p.m. between State Route 122 and State Route 123.

Hundreds of cases of beer spilled out of the truck, creating a mess on all northbound lanes.

The northbound direction was closed for several hours because the large amount of glass made it difficult to clean up, authorities say.

Police diverted traffic up the exit ramp near the crash.

Authorities say one person was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Officials have not released any details on other vehicles involved in the crash.

The highway reopened around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.

FOX19 NOW will update this story as more information becomes available.
