LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) -

Several Tri-State Great Clips salons have been hit with armed robberies in recent months, police say.

According to Lawrenceburg Police, at least five armed robberies have occurred at local salons since June.

Since then, Great Clips salons in Lawrenceburg, Milford, Cleves, Batesville and Shelbyville have been robbed.

Authorities say the robberies are typically happening 15 to 20 minutes before closing when there are usually only two female employees in the store.

When employees are closing out for the day--counting money and receipts--the suspect(s) will walk in the front door, pull out a gun, and order employees to the floor. The robbers then go directly to the cash register.

The suspect is usually dressed in all black with blue jeans, a toboggan hat, sunglasses, gloves and a fake beard with a fake nose possibly attached, police say.

Officials also say the suspect is not taking personal items like purses, cell phones and jewelry.

Police describe the suspect vehicle as a white or silver 2005-2006 Mazda Tribute.
