The Virginia Commonwealth Rams used a three-point barrage to defeat the Cincinnati Bearcats 68-47.

The Rams hit 15 three-pointers against the Bearcats, the most threes UC has ever given up in the history of the program.

The young Bearcats struggled without having head coach Mick Cronin who is currently being treated with an unruptured aneurysm. UC had 15 turnovers aagainstthe Rams' patented 'Havoc' defense.

The Bearcats were outscored 45-9 from the perimeter.

Cronin addressed the team before the game before heading back to his house.

“I appreciate the UC Health medical community for all they have done to get to the bottom of my issue as quickly as possible,” Cronin said in a statement before the game. “Obviously, I am being held out of coaching the team for precautionary reasons which I fully understand. I have total confidence in my coaching staff and players that they will be focused and ready to play today.”

Cronin is under physician's orders to not coach until further tests are complete.
