Man sent to the hospital after Covington meth lab explodes

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A man is in serious condition in the hospital and a woman is jail after an overnight meth lab exploded Saturday night in Covington.

The meth lab exploded in the 400 block of West 19th Street in Peaselburg. 

According to officials, Crystal D. Smith, 33, was booked into the Kenton County Detention Center at approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say Smith is charged with one count manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. 

Smith is being held on $10,000 bond.

The Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force are helping assist the Covington Police further into the investigation of the meth lab.
