Police arrest man accused of stealing car with 20-day-old inside

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Florence Police say that a man was arrested Sunday who is accused of stealing the car that had a 20-day-old in it on Thursday.

Police say the baby, Henry Flores, was in a car at the Speedway Gas Station at 7819 US-42 in Florence around 4:05 p.m. Thursday when his mother got out of the car and took her two-year-old child into the gas station to pay, leaving the infant behind. 

A suspect got in the car and drove away with the baby inside, said officials. An Amber Alert was issued shortly after.

Two bystanders say they recognized the vehicle from the Amber Alert and notified police.

According to police, they found Flores sleeping inside the car at a Sunoco gas station in the 2200 block of Dixie Highway in Fort Mitchell Thursday night.

Florence Police say a warrant was issued for theft by unlawful taking-auto and kidnapping a minor.  The warrant was served by the Evendale Police Department.

On Saturday, Evendale Police say they stopped the suspect, Jonathan G. Sester, 25, of Cincinnati, who was in a stolen vehicle with his father, John Sester, and brother, Matthew Sester. Jonathan got out of the vehicle and ran away from the scene. Police called for a K-9 Unit but the were unsuccessful. 

Norwood Police say they arrested Jonathan without incident after he was spotted outside of the Rookwood Pavilion on Sunday just after 3 p.m. 

Sester was identified through a follow up investigation by the Florence detective unit.

He is being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $20,000 bond.
