CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

The First District Court of Appeals has denied convicted Judge Tracie Hunter's bid to stay out of jail.

Hunter filed the motion to be released on bail and postpone her sentence while she appealed her conviction. The motion argued Hunter's conviction could successfully be appealed and also cited health issues that would interfere with her jail time.

“The court finds that the motion is not well taken and is overruled,” the appeals court documents states.

Judge Norbert Nadel ruled earlier this month that Hunter would serve 10 months in the Hamilton County Jail for her felony conviction of having an unlawful interest in a public contract.

Nadel ordered Hunter to begin her sentence on Dec. 29.
