Five people are in jail after police found them unresponsive to a heroin overdose with three children on the front porch.

According to Boone County Sheriff's Department, police arrived at a Florence trailer in the 100 block of Melinda lane to find three children on the front porch . The youngest child was only one-year-old. Once entering the trailer, police say they found five adults unresponsive due to heroin use.

Two of the adults admitted to police that they went to the back of the trailer to snort Percocet.

One of the suspects, Shawna Menefee, told deputies that it only takes two seconds to snort a line of heroin and that no one has to watch the kids in that amount of time.

Menefee, Heather Whittington, Leigh Barrington, Michael Brewer and Jerry Kennedy were all charged with Wanton Endangerment. Menefee and Whittington were also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
