Armed suspect robs Fed Ex driver in College Hill

COLLEGE HILL (FOX19) - A suspect armed with a handgun robbed a Fed Ex driver on Wednesday afternoon, Cincinnati Police confirm.

The driver was out of his vehicle around noon to deliver a package at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of North Bend Road when the suspect approached, according to officials.

"I think it's just terrible you know, they are a Grinch. And they should be punished,” said Kristal Stallworth, a resident at the apartment complex where the robbery was committed.

The robber took the package and the driver's wallet before fleeing the scene on foot. Officials described the victim as “shaken up” but say he was not injured in the robbery.

While it's not usual for packages to be stolen off doorsteps, Cincinnati Police say an incident involving delivery workers is rare.

"Rarely do we have this, where they rob them at gunpoint, plus take their wallet," said Sgt. James Graves of Cincinnati Police Department.

Representatives from Fed Ex along with District 5 police are investigating.

Cincinnati PD says the Fed Ex driver is alright, and now will spend time with his family on Christmas Day.
